🍰 Add a (cloud) file storage to your team in Teams
Updated: Dec 26, 2020
Who didn't experience this yet? 😱
You work in different teams, and there are several documents you want to access in another team. Switching between the teams is not the solution and copying the data is also not the best way to do that.
To understand it better, here is an example:
You work in the marketing department. Relevant documents for your daily work are stored in a team in Microsoft Teams.
Besides, you are in a team with external partners. They don't have access to the marketing team data. By adding (cloud) file storage to your team, you could directly view the documents shared with the external partners in your marketing leading team. You could even add (cloud) file storage to documents shared by the SharePoint Online intranet's marketing team. In this way, you can easily publish content via Teams.
Take a look at the graphic below to see how to add cloud storage to the files area of a team in Teams.
This works with every team you have access to or every SharePoint library. If your company policies allow you to add cloud storage from other sources (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.), you can add them as well to your team.
Keep in mind: - the team members need to have access to that data storage to see the documents stored there.
