🎂 Shortcrust cake with fruits
Finally! This is that last post of the Pretty Up My SharePoint series! To round the cake up, here is the recipe.
The shortcrust cake is baked very often in Germany – it is really delicious. First, you need to prepare the shortcrust pastry, which is very, very easy, and you need some fruit. The cool thing is – it is like in Office 365 – you can mix it with different fruits. In summer you can use apricots, sour cherries, in autumn use plums and in winter - apple with a lot of cinnamon.
Let’s start – it’s super easy and fast!
300 g flour
200 g butter
100 g sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and knead carefully.
Put the dough in aluminum foil and place it in the refrigerator for about 1/2 hour.
In the meantime, prepare the fruits (of your choice). You should use about 800g -1 kg fruits. Slice, and sprinkle the fruits with sugar (maximum 50 grams). Plums and apricots are often pretty sweet, they don’t need so much sugar, but sour cherries and apples need more sugar.
Roll out dough (by hand or with a dough roller)
Line the dough on a square or round baking tray
Spread the fruits on the dough
Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 175 °C top/bottom heat on the middle shelf for 45 minutes. Depending on the oven, it can sometimes be quicker.
My Recommendation for the winter
Use 800g-1000g apples, slice them and mix them with 50 g sugar and 1 tbs cinnamon. Leave to stand them for at least 20 Minutes. Arrange them on the dough and ornate them with walnuts.
